Playroom

The Main Floor Playroom is Kindred Kids primary play area. It has been designed with the varying developmental needs of children 0-4 years of age. The space boasts a large dramatic play area, fine and gross motor development toys such as blocks, balls and open-ended materials. We also have included sensory play, a reading corner and music and movement components in the program. Your children will have plenty of space to explore, develop and learn in our bright main floor daycare space.

DINING

The Kitchen and Dining area at Kindred Kids is located on the main floor of the home beside the playroom. Kids can play supervised in the secure and child safe area while lunch is prepared. Children have the option based on their developmental readiness to eat in a highchair, booster seat, at the kitchen table or at a child’s size table. Some additional skill building activities such as baking and cooking with the children will also take place in the kitchen area. This area has a bathroom available to the children and will be the bathroom utilized for hand washing before and after lunch and general potty practices.

Outside

The Backyard and Sunroom Space is located at the rear of the home. Kindred Kids has designed a backyard space for the children in care with gross motor and dramatic play in mind. Our program is designed to include 1-2 hours of play each day in our fenced backyard weather permitting. The screened in sunroom can be utilized on rainy days. The backyard includes swings and slides, a sandbox and sensory tables, cars and ride-on toys and an outdoor playhouse. The pool in the backyard has a secondary 5-foot fence with a locked gate. This gate will remain locked and secure at all times during daycare hours. Children will not be permitted to swim or be in the pool area at any time and lock checks will be performed anytime the children are outside. I stress that I do not what my own children around the pool for safety reasons and will take the same care with your children.

SLEEP

Sleep Spaces for Napping are equipped with a playpen or nap cot, video monitor, pillow and bedding when required. We always encourage parents provide the child's favourite blankie or
lovie to encourage optimal comfort at nap times. Children all have their own nap space, unless requested no child sleeps in the same room.
